Kathmandu: The benchmark index of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased by 4.45 points on Sunday, showing a slight recovery in the share market after recent fluctuations.
With this gain, the Nepse index rose by 0.15 percent to close at 2,824.90 points at the end of the trading session.
A total of 124 companies recorded gains, while 130 companies saw their share prices decline. Meanwhile, the share prices of nine companies remained unchanged during the day.
Sector-wise performance in the market was mixed. The hotel and tourism, investment, life insurance, and mutual fund sectors recorded losses. However, banking, development banks, trading, and manufacturing and processing sectors posted gains.
During Sunday’s trading session, 39,549,033 shares were traded through 124,490 transactions.
The total market turnover stood at Rs 14.32 billion, which showed that there was heavy trading activity in the market.
On the other hand, the share price of Solukhola Hydropower Company Limited increased by 10 percent, reaching the upper circuit limit.
