Kathmandu: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petroleum products across Nepal. The new fuel prices came into effect from Sunday midnight.
According to NOC, the price of diesel and kerosene has been increased by Rs 10 per liter, while the petrol price in Nepal has gone up by Rs 15 per liter.
After the latest adjustment, the price of diesel and kerosene has been fixed at Rs 149.50 per liter in the first category, Rs 151 in the second category, and Rs 152 in the third category. Similarly, the petrol price in Nepal has been set at Rs 169.50 per liter in the first category, Rs 171 in the second category, and Rs 172 in the third category.
NOC has categorized fuel depots based on location. The first category includes depots in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj. The second category includes Surkhet and Dang, while the third category includes depots in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal.
The corporation stated that the price adjustment was made in line with the latest petroleum import costs. The increase in fuel prices is expected to impact transportation costs and daily expenses for the public.
