Kathmandu, Nepal: Nepal is preparing for the March 5th, 2026, elections. Two neighbouring countries, India and China, have offered support for the Nepal election 2026 process.
India has provided vehicles and logistical supplies. The first batch includes double-cab pickup vehicles. These will help with transporting election materials and security teams. More vehicles are expected soon. India has supported Nepal’s past elections in a similar way.
China has chosen a different approach. It is providing cash assistance instead of equipment. Nepal had requested items like CCTV cameras and drones. However, China said time was limited and offered financial support instead. The funds will help manage election expenses and allowances for security personnel and officials.
This support comes at an important time. Nepal needs strong logistics and security arrangements for the polls. Assistance from both countries is expected to make election preparations smoother. The move also shows Nepal’s strategic importance in regional diplomacy.
