Kathmandu — The NEPSE index fell slightly in Wednesday’s trading session. The index closed at 2,681.50 points, down by about 1.64 points from the previous day. This shows a mild drop in the overall market during the NEPSE decline.
Although the market fell, there were four companies that recorded high gains. The share price of these companies increased by 10 percent, reaching the upper circuit limit. These companies were Kalinchowk Darshan, Supermai Hydropower, Supermadi Hydropower, and Aankhukhola Hydropower. Trading in these stocks was briefly halted after the sharp rise despite the broader NEPSE decline.
A total of 326 companies were traded during the day. Among them, 113 companies gained, while 134 companies lost value. 13 companies saw no change in price.
Daily trading turnover reached around Rs 7.49 billion. This was lower than the previous trading session. Lower turnover suggests that many investors are being cautious.
The market showed mixed performance. Although the total index fell, there were some stocks that experienced heavy buying. This shows that investors are choosing specific stocks to purchase, rather than the whole market.
