The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has taken a strong lead in the ongoing vote count for Nepal’s House of Representatives election, as RSP leads election results in several constituencies.
According to the latest update released at 5:30 AM on March 8, the party has already won 91 constituencies. RSP candidates are also leading in 34 more constituencies as vote counting continues.
Data from the Election Commission Nepal shows that results from 117 constituencies have been made public so far.
Among the major political parties:
Meanwhile, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party and independent candidates have won one constituency each.
In addition, three candidates from the Shram Sanskriti Party are currently leading in vote counting.
Vote counting for the proportional representation (PR) system is also ongoing. The election was held on March 5.
So far, around 1.9 million votes have been counted as RSP leads election votes in the PR counting as well.
