Nepal Stock Exchange Falls on Selling Pressure

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) ended lower on Sunday amid selling pressure. The benchmark index fell 27.59 points to close at 2,614.55. The fall shows weak investor confidence at the start of the trading week.

All sector indices ended in the red. This means that every major sector, including banking, finance, insurance, hotels, and hydropower, has incurred losses. The overall decline indicates that investors were cautious and did not make new purchases.

The trading activity also slowed down. The total turnover declined to Rs 6.69 billion, which was lower than the previous trading session. Fewer buyers were active in the market, while sellers dominated most of the day.

Market breadth was negative. Of all traded companies, 220 stocks declined34 gained, and 7 remained unchanged. This clearly shows that losses were widespread across the market.
