The Nepal Oil Corporation has made some changes in fuel rates, providing both relief and pressure on the consumers.
As per the new rates, LPG price jumps by Rs 150 per cylinder in the rate of LP gas, making it Rs 2,160.
But, NOC has made fuel prices cheaper. The price of petrol has been reduced to Rs 214.50 per liter with a Rs 2 cut. In the same manner, the price of diesel and kerosene has also been reduced by Rs 12 per liter, making the total Rs 222.50 per liter.
On the other hand, the cost of aviation fuel has also increased. The domestic cost has increased by Rs. 7 per liter, while the international cost in Kathmandu has increased by USD 46 per kiloliter.
Overall, while the decrease in petrol and diesel prices offers some relief, the LPG price hike is expected to put additional pressure on consumers’ daily budgets.
