The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) had a positive trading day on Wednesday with the stock index rising 4.99 points to close at 2782.10 points. Along with the market gain, daily trading turnover also increased significantly.
Investor were active in various sectors, such as banking, hydropower, finance and insurance companies. A total of 354 companies listed on the exchange, which saw 60,000 plus trades, had over 15.24 million shares turned over in the session. The total market turnover was Rs 6.03 billion.
Investor confidence, market activity and rising interest among investors in banking and hydropower stocks helped to fuel the positive momentum in the secondary market, market analysts said. The trading session was also positive for a number of sector indices.
