Kathmandu – The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the NRB currency rates Friday, January 16, 2026. These rates show how much major world currencies are worth in Nepali rupees.
The central bank set the buying rate for one US dollar at Rs 144.18 and the selling rate at Rs 144.78. This means banks will buy and sell US dollars at these prices today.
Dollar‑linked Asian and Gulf currencies also have fixed rates:
Smaller currency units like the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan also have trading values today, while Gulf currencies such as the Saudi riyal and Qatari riyal are included in the list. ﹘ These rates help banks and traders exchange money fairly across Nepal.
