Kathmandu – The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the NRB currency rates Friday, January 16, 2026. These rates show how much major world currencies are worth in Nepali rupees.

The central bank set the buying rate for one US dollar at Rs 144.18 and the selling rate at Rs 144.78. This means banks will buy and sell US dollars at these prices today.

• UK Pound Sterling: buying at Rs 193.53, selling at Rs 194.33
  
• Swiss Franc: buying at Rs 180.07, selling at Rs 180.82
  

Dollar‑linked Asian and Gulf currencies also have fixed rates:

• Australian dollar buys at Rs 96.57 and sells at Rs 96.97
  
• Canadian dollar buys at Rs 103.74 and sells at Rs 104.17
  
• Singapore dollar buys at Rs 112 and sells at Rs 112.47
  

Smaller currency units like the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan also have trading values today, while Gulf currencies such as the Saudi riyal and Qatari riyal are included in the list. ﹘ These rates help banks and traders exchange money fairly across Nepal.
