Kathmandu, December 30, 2025: The price of gold and silver has dropped sharply in Nepal’s market. Gold fell by Rs 7,900 per tola, from Rs 270,000 on Monday to Rs 262,100. Silver also fell by Rs 305 per tola, down to Rs 4,590 per tola.
Traders say the drop happened because investors sold some of their gold and silver to take profits. Changes in international prices also affected the local market.
Gold had just hit record highs of more than Rs 270,000 per tola, and silver was close to its peak. The price of gold and silver means that the market is finally settling down after the previous rise.
People and businesses are watching their costs closely to see if they go up or lower in the coming several days.
