Kathmandu, January 1, 2026 – The government, through the Nepal Oil Corporation, has made an announcement concerning a decrease in fuel price in Nepal. The new fuel rates came into effect from Thursday morning, according to an official statement by NOC.
As per the revised pricing:
Despite an increase in the purchase price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), the corporation has kept cooking gas prices unchanged, citing consumer welfare as the main reason.
The NOC adopts a location-based pricing structure. The revised rates are:
Petrol – Rs 156.50 per litre
Diesel/Kerosene – Rs 134.50 per litre
Petrol – Rs 158 per litre
Diesel/Kerosene – Rs. 136 per liter
Petrol – Rs 159 per litre
Diesel/Kerosene – Rs 137 per litre
The decrease in fuel price in Nepal is expected to reduce transport costs, which will help businesses and offer relief to consumers as the cost of living is increasing. Fuel prices, in turn, directly affect inflation and overall economic activity in the country, Nepal. The Nepal Oil Corporation has clarified that changes in fuel prices are determined by trends in international markets.
