The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the official forex rates Nepal for Thursday, January 22, 2026. These rates show how much foreign money is worth in Nepalese rupees (NPR) for people and businesses exchanging money today.
Under the new rates, the US dollar is priced at NPR 146.42 for buying and NPR 147.02 for selling. This means people selling USD to banks or money exchangers will get NPR 146.42, while buying USD will cost NPR 147.02, according to forex rates Nepal.
The European euro is being bought at NPR 171.51 and sold at NPR 172.21. At the same time, the British pound sterling is priced at NPR 196.40 for buying and NPR 197.21 for selling.
For other currencies, the Swiss franc is being bought at NPR 184.94 and sold at NPR 185.70. The Australian dollar is priced at NPR 98.85 (buy) and NPR 99.25 (sell), and the Canadian dollar stands at NPR 105.91 (buy) and NPR 106.34 (sell).
Asian and Middle Eastern currencies also have updated rates. For example, 10 Japanese yen is valued at around NPR 9.27 (buying) and NPR 9.31 (selling). The Chinese yuan is at about NPR 21.03 (buy) and NPR 21.11 (sell). The Saudi riyal has been set at NPR 39.05 for buying and NPR 39.21 for selling.
Smaller currencies like the Thai baht and UAE dirham are also listed. The baht is around NPR 4.71–4.73, while the dirham is about NPR 39.86–40.03. Rates for currencies such as the Malaysian ringgit, Hong Kong dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Omani rial are available according to the bank’s fixed exchange list.
NRB notes that these official forex rates Nepal may be updated during banking hours and that commercial banks or exchange counters may quote slightly different prices based on demand and supply.
