Kathmandu, January 7, 2026 – Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the official Nepal foreign exchange rates for Wednesday. These rates are used by banks, money changers, and financial institutions across the country.
The US dollar has a buying rate of NPR 143.97 and a selling rate of NPR 144.57. The euro is buying at NPR 168.57 and selling at NPR 169.28, while the UK pound buys at NPR 194.70 and sells at NPR 195.51.
Asian currencies are also listed: 10 Japanese yen at NPR 9.20 (buy) and NPR 9.24 (sell), and 1 Chinese yuan at NPR 20.61 (buy) and NPR 20.70 (sell). Middle Eastern currencies like the Saudi riyal and Qatari riyal are priced in the mid‑30s NPR range.
The rate of the Central bank has also been set at NPR160 (buying) and NPR160.15 (selling) for 100 units of the Indian Rupee, considering the trading patterns with Nepal’s nearest neighboring country.
The official Nepal foreign exchange rates are helpful for conducting foreign exchange. The different banks of Nepal may charge a margin of difference while exchanging foreign currency.
