NOC Fuel Shortage Warning for Public

Kathmandu: Nepal Oil Corporation has issued a NOC fuel shortage warning and asked the public to use petroleum products and LPG carefully.

In a recent notice, the state-owned corporation said people should buy only the fuel they need. It warned against storing extra gas cylinders at home. Households were also encouraged to use electricity more for cooking and other purposes instead of relying heavily on LPG.

NOC said Nepal depends entirely on fuel imports, making the country vulnerable to international market changes. In the current global situation, careful use of petroleum and LPG is needed to ensure a stable supply across the country.

The corporation also confirmed that fuel imports and sales are running normally. However, panic buying or storing extra fuel could create artificial shortages in the market.

Officials warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found hoarding gas cylinders, selling fuel at inflated prices, or engaging in unauthorized sales. Industries were advised to reduce petroleum and LPG use and switch to electricity wherever possible.

While fuel supply is stable now, NOC emphasized that global events, including tensions in the Middle East, could affect fuel markets worldwide. The public is requested to cooperate and use petroleum and LPG responsibly.
