Kathmandu, Baishakh 10 – The US Dollar Rate Increases in Nepal, following several days of stability, as reported by Nepal Rastra Bank with respect to today’s foreign exchange rates.
The price of one US dollar on the basis of the buying rate is now Rs. 149.78, whereas that on the selling rate is now Rs. 150.38. This compares to Rs. 149.31 and Rs. 149.91, respectively, reported on Wednesday.
In addition to the American dollar, there have been some small movements in other foreign currencies as well. The euro has been sold at Rs. 175.91 and bought at Rs. 176.61, whereas the UK pound sterling has been sold at Rs. 202.35 and bought at Rs. 203.16. Likewise, the Swiss franc has been sold at Rs. 191.67 and bought at Rs. 192.44.
Moreover, there are minor modifications for other currencies such as the Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, and Singapore Dollar. The currencies that belong to Asia and the Middle East include Japanese Yen, Chinese Yuan, Saudi Riyal, and Qatari Riyal.
The US dollar rate increases in Nepal could directly affect the cost of Nepal’s imports and remittance income since a higher value of the dollar leads to higher expenses on the one hand, and increased benefits on the other hand. The Nepal Rastra Bank keeps modifying the foreign exchange rates every day.
